6th International Symposium on the System of Radiological Protection
[widget id="nav_menu-10"]
Welcome, and thank you for considering to support ICRP 2021+1, our 6th International Symposium on the System of Radiological Protection. We are fortunate to be able to host this biennial event around the world, with our most recent events being held in South Korea, France, and Australia. Along with our partners, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and the Canadian Radiation Protection Association (CRPA), we are thrilled to invite the international radiological protection community to beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.
Sponsors and exhibitors of ICRP 2021+1 will receive the recognition that many have enjoyed since the first instalment of our symposia series back in 2011. We expect 500 delegates from more than 40 countries, making this a rare opportunity for global recognition in this evolving field. Attendees will include practitioners in the public and private sectors, scientists, and senior decision makers from governments, industries, and organisations from all regions of the world.
ICRP 2021+1 is also a rare opportunity to meet with around 100 ICRP members in the same place, at the same time. Next November in Vancouver will be a foundational steppingstone for the next decade of our profession, as we look to review and refine the System of Radiological Protection for the next generation.
There are countless opportunities to positively impact your organisation by aligning with us, and we look forward to thanking you in Vancouver.
ICRP attracts attendees from the following categories:
ICRP 2021+1 will focus on areas that need the most attention in the coming years, with a strong emphasis on innovation in developing radiological protection for the next generation.
The detailed programme is not yet finalised, but topics being considered include:
The objective of the Canadian Radiation Protection Association (CRPA) is to advance the development and communication of scientific knowledge and practical means for protecting people and their environment from the harmful effects of radiation consistent with the optimal use of radiation for the benefit of society.
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) regulates the use of nuclear energy and materials to protect health, safety, security and the environment; to implement Canada’s international commitments on the peaceful use of nuclear energy; and to disseminate objective scientific, technical and regulatory information to the public.
The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) was established in 1928 at the second International Congress of Radiology to respond to growing concerns about the effects of ionizing radiation being observed in the medical community. At the time it was called the International X-ray and Radium Protection Committee (IXRPC) but was restructured to better take account of uses of radiation outside the medical area and given its present name in 1950.
Health Canada is responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health. It ensures that high-quality health services are accessible, and works to reduce health risks.
